We will raise the bar by sourcing, evaluating, and providing innovative and quality products within an efficient distribution system.
McFeely's was founded in 1978 by William J. McFeely III (hence the name). We originally sold domestic and exotic hardwoods to local recreational and professional woodworkers.
As the business grew, millwork services were offered along with an ever increasing variety of lumber. By 1985, McFeely's Hardwoods and Lumber (as it was then known) was also carrying top quality hardware for its local woodworkers – including the virtually unknown Square Drive Screw. Tragedy struck in October of 1985 when the founder was killed in an industrial accident at the shop. The business continued to concentrate on hardwood lumber sales to its existing customers until the fall of 1990 when the lumber operations were shut down.
Square Drive Screws were featured in our newsletters in the fall of 1986 and McFeely's evolved into a supplier of fasteners and woodworking tools; including the famous Square Drive Screws. Our first full color catalog was printed in the fall of 1991. You will find that our catalog and website are sprinkled with technical information regarding screws, woodworking information and many other useful “Tech Tips” on other products. These have been gradually refined over the years with the help of customer suggestions and comments. The catalog was even honored in 1995 at The American Catalog Awards with a Gold Award in the hardware division.
Because we value our customers' suggestions and comments, we want them to be happy with their purchases from our catalog as well. So we live by some basic rules we like to call the Bill of Rights, which include:
We like to hear your comments and suggestions so keep them coming.
